Susan M. Berberich, MD

Dr. Susan M. Berberich is the current Managing Partner of Kentucky Eye Care. She brings a rare combination of professionalism including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Spalding University graduating Magna cum Laude, and her doctor of medicine degree from the University of Louisville. She served on Spalding University’s Board of Trustees for many years and as an Associate Clinical Professor for the University of Louisville. She has been active as a board member of the Jefferson County Medical Society and as a Delegate and Trustee of the Kentucky Medical Association.

Dr. Berberich serves as a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the Louisville Academy of Ophthalmology, the Greater Louisville Medical Society, the American Medical Association, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.


Joseph R. Brightwell, MD

Dr. Joseph R. Brightwell completed his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and received his medical degree from the University of Louisville. From there he completed his internship in internal medicine and fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from the University of Louisville. He was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology/Visual Sciences at the University of Louisville and was an Associate Professor at the VA Hospital.

Dr. Brightwell is a member of the Greater Louisville Medical Society, the Kentucky Academy of Ophthalmology, the Louisville Academy of Ophthalmology, the Kentucky Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.


John N. Hafner, MD

Dr. John N. Hafner received his BA from Yale University and completed his medical degree from the University of Louisville. He served as a Flight Surgeon in the United States Air Force.

Dr. Hafner has been in practice since 1968 and joined the Kentucky Eye Care practice in 1995.

Dr. Hafner is a member of the Greater Louisville Medical Society, the Louisville Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Kentucky Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

 


Casey H. Johnson, MD

Dr. Casey Harrell Johnson received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering along with his Master of Engineering from the University of Louisville. He continued at the University of Louisville and received his doctor of medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Minnesota Department of Ophthalmology where he also was Chief Resident from 2004 through 2005. He is professionally associated with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Minnesota Academy of Ophthalmology, the Minnesota Medical Association and the Greater Louisville Medical Society.

Dr. Johnson participates in several public service activities including the Special Olympics Vision Screening, Habitat for Humanity, Dare to Care and Kentucky Harvest.

Heather L. Harmon, MD

Dr. Heather L. Harmon graduated with a 4.0 GPA from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Highest Honors.  She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Louisville, graduating third in her class and Summa Cum Laude. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Louisville, where she was elected Chief Resident.

Dr. Harmon currently serves on the Greater Louisville Medical Society Board of governors, is Chair of the Kentucky Medical Association Young Physicians Steering Committee, and is an elected Delegate to the Kentucky Medical Association.  She has also served on the Kentucky Medical Association Nominating Committee, and is a past President of the Louisville Academy of Ophthalmology.

She is currently a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Kentucky Medical Association, the Greater Louisville Medical Society, and the Louisville Academy of Ophthalmology.


C. Thomas Moran, MD

Dr. C. Thomas Moran Jr. received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Notre Dame and completed his doctor of medicine from the University of Louisville.  He is Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Louisville.

Dr. Moran Jr. has professional affiliations with the Greater Louisville Medical Society, the Kentucky Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the Louisville Academy of Ophthalmology, the Transylvania Medical Society, the American Intraocular Implant Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.


S. Fred Stephenson, MD

Dr. S. Fred Stephenson completed his Bachelor of Science in Engineering and received his doctor of medicine from the University of Louisville. He was past president of the Louisville Academy of Ophthalmology and the Tri-County Medical Society.

Dr. Stephenson is a member of the Greater Louisville Medical Society, the Kentucky Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Keratorefractive Society and the Louisville Academy of Ophthalmology.
