Dr. Brightwell using the VISX Laser
How does it work?
LASIK is an outpatient surgical procedure, performed at our Suburban Excimer Eye Care Center lasting approximately 10-15 minutes per eye.
During the Lasik procedure, a very thin flap is made using an instrument called a microkeratome or with an Intralase FS (Femotosecond) laser. This flap is gently folded back and a cool beamed laser is used to remove and reshape the exposed corneal tissue and the flap is then folded back into place without the need for sutures. The actual laser time is usually only between 30 and 45 seconds. Anesthetic eye drops (numbing drops) are used during your procedure to keep you comfortable and you will be given something mild to help you relax.
State of the art diagnostic and laser systems, the Wavescan Wavefront systems and the StarS4 Excimer Laser system deliver precise levels of accuracy and treatment results.
